A teenager is dead after a snowmobile and pickup truck collided in Oxford County on Saturday.

According to Oxford County OPP, emergency services responded to the area of Road 92 and 23rd Line in Zorra Township shortly after 10:30 a.m. following reports of reports of a serious two-vehicle collision involving a pickup truck and a snowmobile.

Police say the 14-year-old snowmobile operator was transported to hospital where they were pronounced deceased.

No other injuries were reported.

At the scene, CTV News witnessed a white pickup truck with severe front-end damage and two snowmobiles, one of which was on its side.

The crash took place just metres away from where a snowmobile trail crosses Road 92.

On social media, the Thamesford Snowmobile Club posted that Trail 5-67 from Lake Side to Road 78 is closed and ask the public to avoid the area.

“It is with heavy hearts that we have had a trail accident,” the club wrote.

OPP say Road 92 will remain closed between 19th Line and 23rd Line will remain closed for several hours while the investigation continues.
