Basil Ass’ad, 20, of no fixed address is facing 57 charges in relation to 48 vehicle break-and-enters in the Mississauga area.
Peel Regional Police have arrested and charged a man they say is responsible for 48 vehicle break-and-enters in Mississauga.
In a news release, police say they received “numerous reports” since December 2025, of vehicle break-ins in the areas of Kimbermount Avenue, Aquitaine Avenue and Regents Terrace.
Investigators with 11 Division’s Criminal Investigation Bureau, with assistance from the BEAR Unit and uniform patrol officers, conducted an extensive investigation.
On Jan. 26, police arrested 20-year-old Basil Ass’ad, of no fixed address.
He has been charged with:
48 counts of mischief over $5,000Two counts of theft over $5,000Five counts of theft under $5,000Possession of stolen propertyFraud under $5,000
None of the allegations have been tested in court but police say Ass’ad was held for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
