Nottingham Forest are facing a “double whammy” of an injury blow after their 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace.
Goalkeeper Matz Sels and winger Callum Hudson-Odoi were both withdrawn at half-time at the City Ground. The duo are set to have scans on their respective injuries, with the former sustaining a suspected groin problem and his teammate hurting his shoulder.
After the match, Hudson-Odoi posted a picture of himself on Instagram showing one of his arms in a sling. Alongside the image, he wrote: “Well then.”
“Some of it was tactical,” Dyche said of Hudson-Odoi being substituted at the break. “But equally, he has hurt his shoulder so we will have to get that scanned as well.

“A few different people got knocks today. Part of it was my decision tactically, so I was going to remove him because of that, but he has hurt his shoulder as well so it was a double whammy. Hopefully it is nothing too serious but we will probably find out more tomorrow.”
Forest’s point against the Eagles could prove to be an important one in their battle to secure Premier League survival. Morgan Gibbs-White’s opener was cancelled out by Ismaila Sarr’s penalty, which came after Neco Williams was sent off for a handball offence.
Prior to the game, new signing Stefan Ortega was unveiled to the City Ground crowd. The 33-year-old has signed a short-term contract until the end of the season after leaving Manchester City.
Ortega’s arrival is timely given the injury to Sels, although he was not eligible to feature against the Eagles. Angus Gunn came on to replace Sels for what was his Forest debut.

The Reds are already without John Victor due to injury. The Brazilian is expected to be out for the remainder of the season after undergoing knee surgery.
“We want three keepers who are competitive,” Dyche said. “Gunny has shown he is. When John got injured we looked at who was out there.
“It was good timing (signing Ortega). We want that competitive element in that area.”
