While it might not have been the toughest game during Liam Rosenior’s seven-game era as Chelsea manager, it certainly prompted the biggest roar from Chelsea supporters.

Charlton, Pafos and probably Crystal Palace were all games Chelsea were expected to win. Arsenal was always going to be difficult in Rosenior’s second outing, while the win over Napoli was very special.

But it was in Italy. These Chelsea players have been heavily praised since Rosenior came in, but they had not experienced the true Stamford Bridge roar until Enzo Fernandez scored to put Chelsea 3-2 up.

If you could sign any player before the transfer window closes, who would it be? ✍️

It comes after Chelsea were trailing at half-time, 2-0. The comeback win was the first time Chelsea have come from two goals down in the Premier League era, having failed to do so in the previous 56.

What Cole Palmer told Liam Rosenior during the second half

The result was a surprise for many, especially given the boos at half-time. But Liam Rosenior – labelled a “tactical genius” by Pat Nevin – made the changes necessary. That wasn’t the only surprise on the night.

The other was Cole Palmer lasting 90 minutes. The England star has endured a difficult spell with injury and against Napoli, he only managed a half. But on Saturday night, Palmer completed the entire game.

Indeed, The Mail claim Rosenior called Palmer over to the touchline immediately after Marc Cucurella had equalised. Rosenior asked if he was alright, to which Palmer said he was fine and lasted the entire game.

The chances of Cole Palmer playing on Tuesday night

Ultimately, they are small. Palmer has failed to complete 90 minutes back-to-back all season. The former Man City ace has had it tough this season, and yet, he’s still managed to have a hand in seven goals.

Kieran Gill writes that Chelsea will have to see how Palmer has reacted to playing 90 minutes, only the second time since the defeat to Fulham. So, there is every chance Palmer features against Arsenal.

But whether Palmer starts for Chelsea remains to be seen. The turnaround is sharp, and at least it has shown that Rosenior prefers getting Chelsea into the top four, instead of winning the Carabao Cup.
