Chappell Roan stunned in a near naked dress on the red carpet at the Grammy Awards. The popstar was nominated for Record of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance for The Subway at the annual music event.
Following on from winning Best New Artist last year, Chappell was back at the Grammys this year where she stole the show in a body baring dress, which left little to the imagination.
The stunning mesh gown featured a long flowing skirt with a low back, which showed off her figure. The gown also came complete with a matching cloak, which was secured with a gold neck chain.
Speaking on the red carpet, she confessed: “People are just filming you and you don’t know what you’re doing with it. This part is the hardest of the whole night for me. I’m not performing this year, so this is a piece of cake.”

Fans were left stunned by the barely there outfit, asking on X if it was ‘even legal’ to go out in Los Angeles like that. However, others supported the bold look: “Thanks to the goddesses for the existence of Chappell Roan, finally some fun at the #Grammys.”
The dress is a contemporary recreation by Castro Freitas of a haute couture set that the late Manfred Thierry Mugler showed on the runway for his eponymous label back in 1998. On that runway, the silk slip was suspended from the models’ very real nipple rings.
Chappell’s Grammys appearance comes after a career-defining year for the Missouri-born artist. During her award speech the previous year, a defiant Chappell demanded fair pay for artists from their record companies.
“I told myself, if I ever won a GRAMMY, and I got to stand up here in front of the most powerful people in music, I would demand that labels and the industry profiting millions of dollars off artists would offer a living wage and healthcare, especially to developing artists,” she said as she collected the award in 2025.
“I was signed as a minor, [and] when I got dropped I had zero job experience under my belt. And like most people I had a difficult time finding a job during the pandemic and could not afford health insurance. It was so devastating to feel so committed to my art and feel so betrayed by the system. I was so dehumanized not to have health insurance. Labels, we got you, but do you got us?”

Last year, Kanye West’s wife Bianca Censori left very little to the imagination with her outfit. It was Bianca who stole the show when she dropped her black fluffy coat to reveal her bare body beneath a skin-tight mesh slip dress.
Kayne said, after the dress stunt: “Ask me how it was to beat the Grammys?” Bianca had a smile on her face as she could be seen laughing as Kanye was clearly referencing her naked dress.
On the red carpet at the time, a lip reading expert claimed Kanye appeared to compliment Bianca but then appeared to tell her: “You’re making a scene now.” Bianca nodded silently in response, before Kanye urged her on: “Make a scene, I’ll say it’ll make so much sense.” Bianca nodded again, and then Kanye gave her the cue to drop her coat, saying: “Drop it behind you and then turn, I got you.” To which Bianca replied: “Alright let’s go.”
