The stabbing took place just before 4pm on Saturday, January 31, on London Road in Chippenham.
Following the incident, the 16-year-old victim was rushed to hospital with serious injuries.
Two days on, Wiltshire Police has now confirmed that the teenager has died in hospital as a result of the fatal stabbing.
A 15-year-old boy has been arrested in connection to the incident, and remains in custody.

“This is a tragedy which has resulted in a young man losing his life,” said Senior investigating officer Detective Inspector Darren Ambrose.
“We understand the concern that this will have in the local community and our thoughts are with his family and friends at this incredibly difficult time.
“We have arrested a teenage boy in relation to this incident and our enquiries are ongoing.
“It’s vitally important that we hear from anyone with information about this incident or anyone who saw what took place.
“His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.

“Our thoughts are with them at this time and we request that their privacy is respected.”
Wiltshire Police is now searching for anyone who may have witnessed this incident or could have CCTV, dashcam, or doorbell footage.
“Witnesses or anyone with information is asked to contact us on 101 quoting log 189 of Saturday (31/01),” added a spokesperson for Wiltshire Police.
