Derby County are pleased to confirm the deadline day addition of FC Utrecht left-back Derry Murkin.

The 26-year-old has made a permanent switch to the Rams, on a deal that runs until the summer of 2029.
Murkin has made 22 appearances since he joined Dutch top-flight side Utrecht in May 2025, including seven in the league phase of the UEFA Europa League against the likes of SC Freiburg, Lyon, FC Porto and Celtic.
The defender, who is also adept at playing further forward on the left flank, contributed two goals and three assists from his nine Eredivisie outings this term.

Before that, the Colchester-born man, who spent his youth with clubs in the Netherlands, was with German Bundesliga 2 side Schalke 04, where he spent two seasons and featured 57 times.
The full-back will gain his first experience of English football when he joins John Eustace’s squad in the Sky Bet Championship.

Welcome to Derby County, Derry!
