The U’s are looking to bounce back from a 2-0 defeat at home to Birmingham City on Saturday, Bloomfield’s first defeat as head coach.

Blades boss Wilder was in charge of Oxford for six years, guiding the club back into the football league before leaving in 2014.

“Incredible,” was the word Bloomfield used to describe Wilder’s career.

“What an incredibly experienced manager. Been there, seen it, done it, had great success.

“Someone who, in my career and my position, I look up to.

“I think, as a guy and a manager, I think he’s fantastic.

“We’re really respectful of our opposition, but we’re also really pleased with what we’ve done since we’ve come in.”

Some key names were missing against Blues; Brian De Keersmaecker, Jack Currie, and January signing Jin-woo Jeon all out through injury.

With De Keersmaecker missing for a couple of weeks, there is a possibility of a return for the other two at Bramall Lane.
