Reliable West Ham insider ExWHUemployee has shared a fresh update on the club’s race against time to sign Chelsea defender Axel Disasi after submitting a deadline day deal sheet.

The Hammers have endured a chaotic January window that’s seen more players leave than arrive.

Lucas Paqueta returned to Flamengo in Brazil for £36.5 million, whilst fringe players like James Ward-Prowse, Guido Rodriguez and Niclas Fullkrug all departed.

Igor Julio’s loan got cut short when Brighton recalled him, creating the defensive emergency that’s forced West Ham into deadline day panic.

Coming in the other direction, boss Nuno Espirito Santo has brought strikers Taty Castellanos and Pablo on permanent deals, alongside reuniting with former Wolves winger Adama Traoré.

But the glaring hole remains at centre-back.

West Ham have conceded more Premier League goals than anyone else this season, and Jean-Clair Todibo’s three-match suspension following his Saturday red card against Chelsea has made the situation absolutely dire.

That’s why the east Londonerss have chased Disasi all day.

Fabrizio Romano shares Axel Disasi priority with ‘West Ham proposal on the table’

The Frenchman is a late-window centre-back target.

The 27-year-old hasn’t featured for Chelsea’s first team all season after he got completely frozen out, spending most of his time training with the development squad.

Last season wasn’t much better.

Disasi was a bit-part player on loan at Aston Villa, barely playing before returning to Stamford Bridge, but West Ham are trying to offer the Frenchman a fresh chance across London.

Disasi had a medical today ahead of a move to West Ham after both clubs shook hands on a loan deal, with a deal sheet submitted as we go past the 7pm cut-off.

The deal sheet will give West Ham extra time to finalise a deal for the ex-Ligue 1 star, but according to Ex, the defender isn’t exactly making things easy.

West Ham encounter late hurdle as Disasi makes extra demands

As per the insider, via X, West Ham are insisting the deal remains on, but Disasi is now making extra last-minute demands.

While those specific demands haven’t been revealed yet, it’s created major headaches with just an hour and a half left before the 9pm final deadline.

West Ham thought they had this wrapped up after days of negotiations with Chelsea, only for the player himself to throw spanners in the works at the worst possible moment.

Nuno badly needs this signing. They face Burnley away on Saturday in a massive relegation six-pointer with Todibo banned and Max Kilman out of form.

Disasi

Failure to land Disasi would leave Nuno dangerously short at the back during the most crucial part of the season.

Whether West Ham cave to Disasi’s new demands or walk away remains to be seen, but the clock is ticking loudly.
