Following the adverse weather conditions over the past few weeks, a section of earth has come crumbling down at Underdown Hollow, the road that joins the A30 at Babylon hill to Bradford Abbas.
The route is blocked by the landslip and a fallen tree with motorists advised to seek alternative routes.
A spokesperson for Sherborne Police said: “Those who use Underdown Hollow, the road that joins the A30 at Babylon hill to Bradford Abbas, it is still blocked after a minor landslip and tree collapse so make plans to use an alternative route tomorrow.
“On top of all the other rain we have had this created the potential for some flooding so again please be aware and drive carefully. If you see water covering the road and are not sure how deep it is – don’t risk it – find an alternative route.”
