Police taped off a road after two children were hit by a car in a collision in Oldham. Emergency services, including police and paramedics, were called to the scene on Rochdale Road near Royton at around 3.15pm.

It was reported that a vehicle had struck two children, who were pedestrians. A cordon was put in place blocking the main road in both directions near to St Cuthbert’s High School.

One child received minor injuries. The other, whose age has not been confirmed was rushed to hospital from the scene. They are not thought to have sustained life-threatening injuries.

No arrests have been made in connection with the collision. The road remained closed for a number of hours as police made enquiries at the scene.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: “At around 3.15pm on Wednesday 4 February 2026, police were called to reports of a collision on Rochdale Road in Oldham involving a car and two children.

“One child received minor injuries and was treated at the scene. One child has been taken to hospital however injuries aren’t deemed to be life-threatening or life-changing. The driver remained at the scene. No arrests have been made.”
