Celtic appear to be edging closer to agreeing a deal with former Liverpool star Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
Hoops boss Martin O’Neill admitted interest in Oxlade-Chamberlain and it seems he is very keen on bringing the 32-year-old to Celtic.
The former England star is training at Arsenal and O’Neill thinks the Premier League leaders may well offer Oxlade-Chamberlain a contract.

However, it appears that Celtic are making strides forward in signing Oxlade-Chamberlain as Stephen McGowan reveals the crucial timeline the Bhoys have to get a deal over the line.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain ‘sources’ say talks with Celtic are ‘progressing well’
At just 32, Oxlade-Chamberlain still has a few good seasons left in him and it seems that Celtic are getting closer to agreeing a deal with the former Champions League winner.
McGowan wrote in The Herald, “While reports claimed that Oxlade-Chamberlain was keen to remain close to his family, sources close to the player have told Herald Sport that talks with Celtic are positive and progressing well.
“O’Neill plans to revisit the matter when he returns to his desk after travelling back from Aberdeen after last night’s scheduled Premiership clash was postponed by a waterlogged pitch.”
Celtic have until midnight tonight to submit their Europa League squad for the play-off round of the competition and having Oxlade-Chamberlain available for that would be in O’Neill’s thinking.
What Martin O’Neill said about Oxlade-Chamberlain and Celtic
Martin O’Neill delivered a special sit-down interview before Celtic’s game with Aberdeen was postponed last night and was very positive about signing the 32-year-old.
The Celtic boss said of signing Oxlade-Chamberlain, “No, again, you make a very good point. We were speaking to Oxlade-Chamberlain. I think he is training at Arsenal at this moment.
“Arsenal may even offer him a contract. If that’s the case, really great. At 32, I had been astonished that he hadn’t been picked up.
“I know he was talking about his difficulties out in Turkey. Someone of that sort of experience would have been great. It may still happen because he is out of contract, but he will have a number of options, probably closer to home.
“If that materialises, then that would give us something.”
