Today show co-anchor Savannah Guthrie and her siblings shared an emotional video asking their mother’s possible kidnapper for proof she’s still alive.
Nancy Guthrie, 84, was abducted from her Arizona home, where she was last seen Saturday night, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos has said. In a video posted Wednesday evening, Savannah and her siblings — sister Annie Guthrie and brother Camron Guthrie — acknowledged “reports about a ransom letter” and said they’re “ready to talk.”
“However, we live in a world where voices and images are easily manipulated. We need to know, without a doubt, that she is alive and that you have her,” Savannah said in the video.
Multiple news outlets, including TMZ and KGUN 9, reported that they received ransom notes demanding millions of dollars in Bitcoin for Nancy’s return. Authorities are investigating these notes, Nanos said.
“When the note comes to us, it’s like any piece of evidence. You give it to us, you give us a lead, we’re going to look at every aspect of that lead,” Nanos told CBS News.
Investigators have yet to identify a suspect or person of interest, Nanos said Wednesday. He’s expected to hold a press conference later Thursday to provide updates on Nancy’s disappearance.
President Donald Trump said Wednesday his administration is “deploying all resources to get [Savannah’s] mother home safely.”

How the FBI is assisting the search for Nancy Guthrie
The search for Nancy Guthrie has now entered its fifth day.
Investigators have received “hundreds of leads” related to her case, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos said Tuesday. But police have yet to identify any suspects or persons of interest as of Wednesday.
FBI Assistant Special Agent in Charge Jon Edwards said Tuesday his agency is analyzing data related to Nancy’s disappearance.
“We’re downloading and analyzing cell phones, obtaining cell tower information, conducting interviews and providing any and all investigative support that the sheriff’s department needs,” Edwards told reporters.
The FBI is also helping sort through leads, Nanos said.
“We have a team designated to deal with all of our leads. They’re looking into all of that. We are sharing all of our leads with the FBI. They are helping us in evaluating those leads, how good they are, where their priority should be,” he told reporters.
