Toronto police say a youth has been seriously injured in a shooting in Scarborough.
Emergency crews were called to the area of Lawrence Avenue East and Bellamy Road North shortly after 4 p.m.
Images from Chopper 24 show police cruisers and an ambulance outside a Tim Hortons. One person is seen on a stretcher being wheeled out of the coffee shop.
Police say the victim is a male youth who has been transported to the hospital with serious injuries.
According to Toronto paramedics, the victim is in life-threatening condition.
The suspect fled the scene, police say. No description has been released.
The circumstances that led to the shooting are unknown.
