The Associated Press’ eight NFL awards were among those given out at the 2026 NFL Honors Thursday.
The AP NFL Most Valuable Player award went home with the Los Angeles Rams’ Matthew Stafford in the closest race since Peyton Manning and Steve McNair were co-winners in 2003.
New England’s Mike Vrabel beat out Jacksonville’s Liam Coen for the AP NFL Coach of the Year award, and Christian McCaffrey became the first running back in 24 years to win the AP NFL Comeback Player of the Year award.
It was also announced during the ceremony that the Pro Football Hall of Fame will soon include Drew Brees, Larry Fitzgerald, Luke Kuechly, Adam Vinatieri and Roger Craig.
The awards come ahead of Super Bowl 60 on Sunday, where the Patriots and Seahawks will face off at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

Who votes on the awards: A nationwide panel of 50 media members who regularly cover the league completed voting before the playoffs began. Pro Football Hall of Famers Tony Dungy and Kurt Warner and 2002 AP NFL MVP Rich Gannon are among the voters.
