Hull KR demolished community club Lock Lane 104-0 to kickstart their Challenge Cup title defence, scoring 18 tries and claiming a new club record for biggest triumph.
Here are our player ratings.
Jack Broadbent – 8: A hat-trick on the night for the full-back, who was involved in a lot of the attack as Rovers started their Challenge Cup title defence.
Tom Davies – 9: A constant threat from start to finish, opening the scoring inside three minutes for the club’s first competitive try of 2025.
Noah Booth – 8: Named in the centres, the rising youngster had a handful of impressive moments in the miserable conditions and scored against his former junior club.
Oliver Gildart – A handful of slick assists, and nice footwork in the rain. The classy centre among the try-scorers.
Harvey Horne – 9: A debut to remember for the Hull KR academy product, scoring a second-half hat-trick. Willie Peters was certainly impressed in his post-match press conference.
Arthur Mourgue – 8: Lively on the night in the halves, including a try for the France international.
Tyrone May – 8: A 30-minute stint for the experienced half-back, replaced by Jack Charles for his official debut.
Sauaso Sue – 8: Minutes in the legs for the front-rower, who was unstoppable close to the line in the opening exchanges for his four-pointer.
Karl Lawton – A solid first outing for the overseas recruit, marking his competitive debut. Opposition aside, he looks sharp for his first season in England. He started at hooker, and later shifted to loose forward in the second half.
Dean Hadley – 8: A 40-minute display for the influential forward, who played a huge part in Hull KR’s treble-winning campaign last year.
Rhyse Martin – 9: The back-rower set a new club record for the most conversions in a game, kicking 16 from 18 on the night – beating the previous record of 14 that dates back to 1910.
James Batchelor – 8: Some late damaging runs from the back-rower, with good involvement throughout. Lock Lane had no match to Hull KR on the night.
Elliot Minchella – 8: Another experienced player getting minutes into the legs before next week’s Super League opener against York. The skipper enjoyed a first half try, thanks to an offload from May.
Jack Brown – 8: Made an impact from the bench, including a memorable charging run down the middle against a tiring Lock Lane outfit. There was no stopping the forward as he scored Hull KR’s 17th of the night late on.
Bill Leyland – 8: The young hooker will be pushing for even more minutes in 2026, and had a good impact from the bench.
Jack Charles – 9: Came on for his debut after Hull KR gained a commanding 36-0 lead after 30 minutes, with a first outing to remember including two tries and a looping assist for Davies in the first half.
Tom Whitehead – 8: A towering figure who will be pushing to be inside Willie Peters’ 17 every week following his move from Warrington Wolves. The forward, playing at prop, marked his debut with a late try.
