Philippe Clement had initially named the same XI who started in the 1-0 Championship defeat at Middlesbrough last weekend.

But Diallo appeared to leave the warm up early, before the club confirmed he had been replaced in the original line up by Springett, with Errol Mundle-Smith drafted onto the bench.

Striker Toure was signed from Randers FC for an initial £2.6m in the closing days of the transfer window before City completed a deadline day loan move for QPR midfielder Field.

Clement revealed at Colney on Friday Matej Jurasek was ruled out with a foot injury that requires further assessment.

Manchester United loanee Harry Amass (hamstring) and Pelle Mattsson (ankle) were ruled out prior to last weekend’s 1-0 defeat at Middlesbrough.

Clement indicated on Friday there is still a hope Amass could return before the end of the season, while Mattsson is expected to be sidelined until late March at the earliest.

Amankwah Forson has returned to training after the hamstring injury picked up at Preston on December 20 but is not in the mix this weekend. Gabe Forsyth is still following a rehab plan as he bids to make a competitive return since injuring his knee in November 2024.

Jeffery Schlupp and Shane Duffy (hamstring) remain longer term absentees. Mirko Topic and Ante Crnac are out for the season with ACL knee injuries.
