From grounding wellness and storytelling to reggae anthems, R&B slow jams, and packed dancefloors, Black-led organizers across the city are creating spaces that honour history while celebrating the present.Â
Whether you’re looking to learn, unwind or turn all the way up, herethese are some events this weekend happening in Toronto.
SLOW WINE: Self-Love Stretch Session
Date: Feb. 7
Location: 2053 Danforth Ave.
Need a reset? Slow Wine is your invitation to exhale. Hosted by Gyallivant, an organization known for creating nourishing wellness experiences for Black women and women of colour, this cozy, guided stretch session is all about slowing down and tuning back into your body.Â
From 2:30-3:30 p.m., expect gentle movement, deep breathing, and feel-good vibes to the sounds of dancehall, Afrobeats and soca. Tickets are available online, and cost around $25.Â
Black History Nature Walk: Daddy John Hall
Date: Feb. 7
Location: James Garden
Kick off your Saturday bright and early with this guided nature walk, where participants can experience Black Canadian history on the land where it unfolded. Led by hike guides Shyrai and Tramar, the 9:30 a.m. walk traces the Humber River Valley while exploring the life of Daddy John Hall, a Jamaican Mohawk free man in the late 1700s who survived war, slavery, and captivity before building a life rooted in deep relationship with the land.Â
Offering pay-what-you-can pricing on tickets, this walk offers a meaningful, grounding way to connect history, nature, and community during Black History Month.
20th Annual King of Reggae Birthday Celebration

Toronto’s longest-running Bob Marley birthday tribute returns for its 20th anniversary with a night of live reggae at Lee’s Palace. This milestone celebration features a full set from 10-piece reggae powerhouse Reggaddiction, plus special surprise guests bringing extra island heat to the stage.Â
Beyond the music, the night gives back with food donations supporting the Parkdale Food Bank, alongside prize giveaways and a lively craft market. Tickets are priced at $23.53, so come ready to dance, celebrate the legacy of a legend, and be part of one of the city’s most iconic nights.
Mandem & Mains: The Variety Show & Valentine’s Sip n’ Shop

Tallawah Sound System: 5th Year Anniversary

Dancehall party organizers Tallawah Sound System are marking five years of shaking dance floors and building culture with a special anniversary celebration at Sound Machine.Â
Since launching in 2021, Tallawah has become known for its lively scene and all-star DJ lineups and this night is sure to be no different. Expect big rhythms, waistline movement, and a packed room celebrating how far the sound has come. Final tier tickets are on sale now for $27.Â
JUSSS LISTEN SATURDAYS: DJ SHYSOFLY
