Diallo was ruled out in the warm up, after originally being included in the line up, while Makama’s ankle/foot area is now the focus for City’s medical staff after an awkward landing in the second half.
Sengalese attacker Diallo missed months of the campaign with a quad injury prior to his festive comeback.
“I’m not a doctor. Sometimes I wish I was, but we need to see,” said Clement, who will be pressed for an update when he previews the midweek trip to Oxford on Monday lunchtime. “I saw the images (on Jovon). He’s in a duel, he was running, and he stepped, instead of on the grass, on somebody’s arm or hand that was lying there, and he has twisted his foot.
“It was very painful afterwards, so that he could not stand on it anymore. We need to make a full assessment now the next few days to see what’s going on there.
“Papa felt something with shooting towards goal in the warm up. So that’s also a weird one, because this last week, we really took good care of all the players who had most minutes, and players coming back like Papa so that they didn’t have a big week.
“Other guys had a big week, but they were two guys who were in the group that we took care of. I think it’s bad luck. I can only hope and pray but, for sure, it feels like we are the wrong side of the injuries. It’s a big list already from players that we miss again for the moment.”
Tony Springett replaced Diallo while goalscoring debutant, Mohamed Toure, Oscar Schwartau and Mathias Kvistgaarden all made huge impacts from the substitutes’ bench.
“That’s why all the players in the team also feel they’re close to playing games,” said Clement. “They need to be involved in the story and show it every day in the training, and the moments that they come on to show the good things for the team.
“And it doesn’t mean that they cannot make faults, for sure, but it’s about the reaction, what they do on the pitch, and the braveness and to be there united together in whatever position to do the job for the team.
“These games are really important, because this gives the team also the energy to know that, ‘Look a lot of things can go wrong, but we as a group, we react. We as a group, keep a clean sheet. We as a group, scored two goals’, and we need to continue with that mentality.”
