Hamilton police say an 70-year-old woman is in hospital with life-threatening injuries after she was struck by a car at the intersection of Barton and Kenilworth streets.
Officers were called to the scene at around 11:30 a.m. and have had the scene closed since then while they investigate.
Police say the older adult woman was walking southbound through the intersection when she was hit by a Chevrolet Volt that was turning westbound onto Barton St. East.
The woman was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Authorities say the driver of the Chevrolet remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.
Anyone with information or video of the intersection during the time of the hit is asked to contact police at 905-546-4753.
