The smell of smoke in the air was the only clue that there had been an emergency response by firefighters and gardai.
There was no obvious fire damage to the outside of the house to the untrained eye, however, it is not known how badly affected the inside has been by the blaze.
No injuries have been reported and the cause of the fire is understood not to be suspicious.
Gardai closed the road to traffic for a period but Clancy Strand is open again to motorists. Â
