“If you throw away the game like we did in these eight minutes, you don’t deserve to win. That’s why we have to accept it. But honestly, it’s very tough today.”
Despite a tough evening there were, as the manager admitted, positives to take, the main one being two goals from Strand Larsen on his home debut.
“Jørgen scored a great first goal, added Glasner. “And that is exactly what we have seen from him. A good run in-behind and a fantastic finish. Then a fantastic header.
“We have seen it, we have seen his effort at Brighton as well. When we deliver balls into the box, he’s always a threat.
“At Brighton he didn’t get the reward. But with this attitude, with his mentality and with his quality, he will score a lot of goals for us.”
The manager added that the first half an hour showed the quality Palace possess but that they need a sharper focus on keeping clean sheets.
“From the first 30 minutes we can take a lot of positives. We played well, played with a purpose. And I want to play with the purpose to score a goal.
“Today we played much better football than at Brighton. But at Brighton we had the desire and the passion to defend as a team and defend our goal.”
