Kai Havertz looks set to miss at least another three to four weeks of football after suffering his latest blow at Arsenal.

Injuries have blighted his time at the Emirates Stadium, ever since his £65million move from Chelsea. It’s understood the 26-year-old has picked up a muscular injury and will miss the north London derby on February 22nd.

He will also be absent for this evening’s away clash with Brentford and will also sit out the FA Cup home clash over Wigan Athletic this weekend, as well as the away clash with Wolverhampton Wanderers next week.

It’s a hugely disappointing set-back for Havertz and Mikel Arteta, who has found goals from his forward players hard to come by.

Moreover, there will also be a concern Havertz could miss the home clash against Chelsea on March 1 and the away battle against Brighton and Hove Albion three days later. All matches will be crucial for Arsenal’s hopes of winning the Premier League.

The Mail understands three to four weeks is the expected timeline for Havertz’s recovery. A knee injury has already forced him to miss the first half of the campaign.

As of right now in all competitions, he has only made seven appearances in all competitions, scoring twice and assisting two more. His most recent goal came in the League Cup semi-final second-leg clash over his former club Chelsea, which secured Arsenal’s place in the final.

With Arsenal travelling to in-form Brentford this evening, Havertz’s absence is one which could hurt Arteta’s side. Manchester City’s dramatic victory away at Liverpool and their dominant 3-0 win over Fulham means they are only three points behind the north Londoners.

Sky has slashed the price of its Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle for the 2025/26 season, saving members £336 and offering more than 1,400 live matches across the Premier League, EFL and more.

Sky will show at least 215 live Premier League games this season, an increase of up to 100 more.

Three points against the Bees will reinstate the gap Arsenal had formed over Pep Guardiola’s side. However, Keith Andrews’ side have been punching above their weight all season and a victory would see them draw level on points with sixth placed Liverpool.

This season, Viktor Gyokeres is Arsenal’s top goal scorer with eight Premier League goals in 23 appearances. Martin Zubimendi and Leandro Trossard are the next highest with five goals each.

Overall, Gyokeres has found life in the Premier League difficult ever since his big money arrival from Sporting Lisbon. Six of his domestic strikes have come against newly-promoted Sunderland, Leeds United and Burnley, with the other two coming against 17th placed Nottingham Forest and Everton.

However, the ex-Coventry City striker has showed enough positive signs to give Arteta extra hope. The Gunners boss said: “His work ethic remains the same.

“I think probably the energy, the confidence, when you start to score and assist, you probably believe that it’s going to happen more often and the probability of that happening then increases…

“I think physically as well, after the injury… when he got himself again fresh and available, and training and a sequence of good matches there, I think everything lifted and now it’s clicking.”
