One person dead after serious collision on Highway 403 in Burlington

One person has died following a crash on Highway 403 at around 9 p.m. on Aug. 3, 2025 (David Ritchie/CHCH News).

One person has died after a crash on Highway 403 near Waterdown Road in Burlington Sunday night.

The collision happened at around 9 p.m. in the westbound lanes on the highway.

The Ontario Provincial Police have reopened the lanes since closing them for several hours following the crash.

A person at the scene tells CHCH News a male driver was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Two cars were noted at the scene, one in the ditch and one on the roadway. Both were badly damaged.

The cause of the collision hasn’t been shared.
