Good Morning Britain came to a standstill on Thursday as the ITV show broke significant news regarding Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor. Reporter Nick Dixon revealed that multiple reports have emerged suggesting the late Queen Elizabeth provided the former Prince with millions to settle with his sex abuse accuser, Virginia Giuffre, preventing the matter from reaching court.

Reports indicate the Queen contributed £7m, whilst Prince Philip allegedly provided £3m from his estate a year following his passing. A further £1.5m is said to have come from Prince Charles, bringing the total to £12m.

According to sources, Andrew has yet to repay any of these funds. Nick noted the Palace has not yet addressed these allegations.

He went on to say there is increased “legal scrutiny” surrounding claims that Andrew may have “shared confidential information with Jeffrey Epstein” via emails.

The ITV programme confirmed these matters are now being handled by Thames Valley Police. In a statement, the force said: “We can confirm today that Thames Valley Police is leading the ongoing assessment of allegations relating to misconduct in public office.”, reports the Express.

“As part of this assessment, we have engaged in discussions with Specialist Crown Prosecutors from the CPS.”

A guest on the programme stated: “The last thing the Royal Family want is any kind of trial. They won’t want their dirty laundry washed in public. So they are going to hope that this problem can be sorted if charges are brought.”

Nick then commented: “So, it’s another day of headlines and another twist in the story for Andrew, but also more scrutiny for the Royal Family and the decisions that they have been making.”

Viewers of the ITV breakfast programme expressed their frustration over the segment, with one posting on X/Twitter: “The man has no shame!”.

Another vented: “The whole Royal Family were in it together covering up for Andrew. He will never be accountable nor give evidence. It’s time to stop this one rule for them and another for us and abolish them for good.”

Whilst another observer remarked: “Why are you focusing on that Andy hasn’t repaid the so called ‘loan’? He hasn’t had a job in years, so the idea that this was somehow a ‘loan’ is absurd.”
