Nuno Espirito Santo has sympathy for one of his successors at Nottingham Forest after Sean Dyche was axed earlier this week.
After leading the Reds to a seventh-placed finish last season, Nuno was dismissed from the City Ground job three games into the current campaign. A falling-out behind the scenes with global head of football Edu was at the heart of his departure and he is now in charge of West Ham United.
The Portuguese was replaced by Ange Postecoglou, who was then succeeded by Dyche following a disastrous 39-day tenure. Dyche lasted 114 days in situ but was given the boot after Wednesday night’s 0-0 draw with Wolverhampton Wanderers.

“It’s understanding that this is the game,” Nuno said when asked about the sacking of Dyche, along with that of Thomas Frank by Tottenham Hotspur. “This is what the industry is all about, unfortunately for my fellow colleagues. But for sure they will get back in the game soon.”
Asked in his press conference what impact Forest going through another two managers has on him, Nuno said: “Yeah. But me personally, I move forward. Now, it’s all about West Ham.”
Although no longer in the hot seat at Forest, Nuno is likely to have a significant impact on how the rest of the season plays out Trentside. The Hammers are arguably the Reds’ biggest rivals in the battle to avoid relegation from the Premier League.
The Reds have a three-point advantage over Nuno’s 18th-placed side. But West Ham have been in fine form of late and have their sights set on reeling Forest in.

Ex-Wolves chief Vitor Pereira is in line to take up position at the City Ground. Nuno admits there is uncertainty over what impact the change will have on the scrap for survival.
“It’s a question mark,” he said. “You never know.
“Our focus is on what we have to do with our team and improvement to keep competing. It’s a tough situation that we want to get out of.
“Now, we’re going to play in the (FA) Cup. This is what we are focused on and then we’ll go day by day, like we usually do.”
