67 Hail Hail writers deliver their Celtic predictions for the Kilmarnock fixture with all forecasting a tough game at Rugby Park.
Celtic will be buzzing after their late Livingston win as the Bhoys closed the gap to Rangers at the top of the Scottish Premiership.
With Rangers facing Hearts on the same day, Martin O’Neill knows that if Celtic beat Kilmarnock, then the gap can be closed on at least one of two this afternoon.
Do you agree with Paddy’s prediction?
While all the writers think Celtic will win in Ayrshire, there are varied opinions on how easy it is going to be to ensure all three points travel back up to Glasgow this evening.
So with that in mind, here is how the writers of 67 Hail Hail believe the game and results are going to go as Celtic take on Kilmarnock at Rugby Park.
Callum Boyle
Callum is expecting some squad rotation ahead of Celtic’s fixture against Stuttgart midweek and thinks that the result will be close.
Callum predicts, “Kilmarnock look all over the place but then again, Celtic haven’t been convincing in the last couple of games either.
“Expect some rotation ahead of Stuttgart on Thursday but it should be relatively stress free given the difference in quality.
“Not many goals, but a win is a win.”
Prediction: Kilmarnock 0-2 Celtic
Martin Crawford
Martin’s prediction was fairly straightforward as he just wants the three points without anything fancy from the Bhoys. But he does back Oxlade-Chamberlain to start.
Martin said, “Win and up the road. I’m hoping for a good performance but not necessarily expecting one – Rugby Park is a tough place to go at the best of times.
“Oxlade-Chamberlain can be used to soften the blow of losing Engels, I wouldn’t be surprised if he starts. Hopefully we’ll see Yang reintroduced too.
“I’ll go for McGregor and Maeda scoring.”
Prediction: Kilmarnock 1 v 2 Celtic
Amir Mir
Amir believes Celtic’s defence could be pivotal for a win at Kilmarnock and predicts Tomans Cvancara to nab his second Hoops goal.
Amir told us, “A certain Neil McCann and a buoyant Kilmarnock, following their win over St Mirren in midweek, are going to make this ugly.
“It’s just a case of, can Celtic remain strong in defence, and do they have the moments to win the match? The answer is yes, but it’s going to be a narrow win at Rugby Park, with Tomas Cvancara and Daizen Maeda scoring.”
Prediction: Kilmarnock 0 v 2 Celtic
Patrick Sinat
As for myself, Kilmarnock’s dodgy defence should allow Celtic to score a few and close the goal difference gap with the Bhoys’ confidence high from the midweek win.
I predict, “Kilmarnock have conceded 18 goals in their last five fixtures as Celtic continually find a way to win.
“With a managerial team consisting of Neil McCann and Billy Dodds, you can bet that the former Rangers coaches will have their team fired up for this one.
“However, Celtic’s confidence will be high after the midweek Livingston win and I expect another three points at Rugby Park.”
Prediction: Kilmarnock 0 v 3 Celtic
