Police are searching for a suspect after a man was allegedly pepper sprayed in the face in downtown Toronto.
In a news release, officials say officers responded to a call for an assault in the Spadina Avenue and Nassau Street area at approximately 3:55 p.m. on Feb. 14.
Investigators allege the victim was walking northbound on Spadina Avenue approaching Nassau Street when the suspect approached and, without provocation, discharged a substance believed to be pepper spray into the victim’s face.
Police say the suspect then left the area, continuing southbound on Spadina Avenue.
He is described as a man in his 30s, about six feet tall with a medium build, light complexion and full beard.
He was last seen wearing a baseball hat, white hoodie, dark-coloured winter jacket and carrying a red reusable shopping bag.
