A property has been cordoned off after police were called to reports of an assault. Images from the scene show police tape tied between two gateposts outside the property on Ash Street in Southport.
It is understood police have remained at the scene throughout the day. One eyewitness told the ECHO a Merseyside Police matrix van was parked on near to the scene and the cordon had remained in place for hours.
A force incident manager for Merseyside Police told the ECHO the assault was not believed to be serious”, adding enquiries are ongoing. It is understood the incident was reported late Sunday morning.
