West Yorkshire Police have issued a full statement on an incident that occurred this morning, Sunday, February 15, in Brighouse.
Social media posts this morning showed a man standing right at the top of electricity pylon near Brighouse Marina.
Social media users speculated as to why he had decided to scale the structure, and what would happen next.

He climbed the structure
Police have confirmed that emergency services were called to the site of an electricity pylon close to Brighouse Marina at 9:15am.
They had received reports of concern for the safety of a man who had climbed the structure.
Around two hours later, the man climbed back down and was promptly arrested.
He is not thought to have sustained any injuries.

What the police said in full
“Emergency services were called to the site of an electricity pylon close to Brighouse Marina at 9:15am today, February, 15, following reports of concern for the safety of a man who had reportedly climbed up the structure,” said a spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police.
“The man climbed down the pylon shortly after 11:30am and was arrested.
“He is not thought to have suffered any injuries during the incident.”
