Police say a person is dead and another is seriously injured after a shooting Sunday morning in Chilliwack, B.C.
Local RCMP officers responded to reports of a shooting at a residence on Mellard Avenue at 8:40 a.m. PT, according to a release from the Upper Fraser Valley regional detachment.
First responders found two individuals suffering from gunshot wounds, the release said.
One person was pronounced dead at the scene and the other was taken to hospital with serious injuries, according to police.
The public are asked to stay away from the area.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has assumed conduct of the investigation.
