Matt Weston’s former coaches’ pride at Winter Olympics double gold

Justin Singleton, PE teacher and head of sport at Bennett Memorial School in Tunbridge Wells, said he was “elated”.

“He was dedicated to his sports. While he was at school he was competing at taekwondo, he was just focused all the way on his sports.

“Whatever sports I put on, he would come and have a go at them,” Singleton said.

“I’ve been boring kids for the past six months, telling them this is our former pupil who’s going to the Olympics and I think he’ll get gold.”
