Torbay Mayor Craig Scott (VOCM News)
People who live in the Indian Meal Line area of Torbay say there has been a string of break and entries over the past while, something which they have never been beset with until recently.
One resident appeared before the last town council meeting to voice her concerns, and to ask the town if it could do anything.
The resident, who has lived in her house for 42 years, says she knows who the perpetrator is. So far, she says the illegal activity has been confined to subsidiary buildings and not the residence.
“So far, the thefts have been in sheds and garages, but there’s a lot of expensive equipment in there and that’s what they’re looking for – things like tools, which sell easily,” she told the town council meeting.
Mayor Craig Scott, whose family is from the Indian Meal Line area, says they have been in contact with the RNC on crime.
“We have been back and forth with the RNC and we’ll continue to do that,” says Mayor Scott.
