A 70-year-old man has died after being struck by a semi-tractor-trailer in Panorama Hills on Monday, police said.

Officers responded to the parking lot of a Save-On-Foods on the 200 block of Panatella Hill NW at around 11:30 a.m.

They say it happened when the man was walking across a marked crosswalk when he was struck by the semi as it was backing up to unload cargo.

EMS says he was rushed to hospital in serious but stable condition, but police said at around 2:30 p.m. he died of his injuries.

The driver of the truck remained on scene.

With the death of a two-year-old on Sunday, this is the second fatal collision involving a pedestrian in less than 24 hours. Officers say this is the seventh traffic fatality of 2026.
