Thousands of Newfoundland Power customers remain without electricity this morning due to severe weather.
Outages have been reported in Outer Cove and in the Cowan Heights and Stavanger Drive area of St. John’s since around 4:45 a.m., which are currently under investigation. Just after 6am pockets of outages have been reported in the Mundy Pond area of the capital city, Upper Gullies, Foxtrap and Flatrock
Two larger outages on the Southern Shore, affecting more than 660 customers in Fermeuse, Renews, Ferryland, and Aquaforte, began just before midnight, with power expected to be restored by 10 a.m. Smaller outages in St. Philip’s are expected to be restored by 11 a.m.
