Liverpool’s No.30 has been absent since departing last month’s Champions League fixture against Qarabag at Anfield due to a muscle injury.
Ahead of Sunday’s fixture at the City Ground (2pm GMT kick-off), Slot issued the latest update on his fitness.
“Jeremie will not be involved this weekend yet,” the head coach told his pre-match press conference on Thursday. “We hope he will be involved next week [against West Ham United] if things go as planned.”
Asked about the latest on Wataru Endo, he added: “No, Wata will be out for a long time, as I said earlier. We don’t know exactly how long – but long.”
On whether Joe Gomez is now ready to start after appearing as a substitute, Slot replied: “Yeah, I think he is.”
