A terminal at Brisbane Airport was evacuated due to a technical fault on Monday evening, causing chaos and significant delays for hundreds of passengers.
A metal detector was found not working correctly in the domestic terminal before 5pm, with everyone in the terminal asked to leave.
All were required to go through security again for a second screening.
That process had begun as of 6.15pm.
A spokesperson for the airport said: “The fault was quickly identified and there is no safety or security threat.
