Hull KR boss Willie Peters and some of his Robins stars have earned plenty of NRL plaudits after their World Club Challenge triumph over Brisbane Broncos.

The Rovers emerged as 30-24 victors over the NRL Premiers, and led 30-4 after 55 minutes, highlighting their dominance for the majority of the game.

Brisbane put on a late comeback, and whilst both teams scored five tries each, Adam Reynolds’ three missed conversions was all that separated the sides by full-time.

KR put on the performance of their life, and outclassed their Australian counterparts in multiple areas, and their efforts have captured many of the Australian media by surprise.

Former NRL star and Australian rugby league legend, Cooper Cronk, highlighted Peters’ coaching ability, making Hull KR into a juggernaut side, and tipped him for a future coaching role down under.

Speaking on Fox League, the former Roosters half-back said: “I’ll be honest, I didn’t give them much of an opportunity against the Brisbane Broncos.

“Willie Peters, quadruple win, that is historic in any form of sport.

“Performance is king and putting trophies on your resume are only going to make you more attractive when it comes to maybe other jobs in England or potentially here in Australia.”

Brisbane captain Adam Reynolds congratulated the Robins on their victory, and said post-match how he could see a number of Hull KR players, including hooker Jez Litten, in the NRL at some point.

“There’s a number of players in that team that could easily make the transition to the NRL,” the Broncos skipper said. “He was a big part of their success last year and again tonight.”

Senior NRL reporter Brad Walter was also a fan of the KR star’s work, asking on social media when the hooker would be moving to the NRL.

Litten has now stood out for both club and country against the Australians, after being a shining light in England’s Ashes defeat to Australia last year.
