GIG HARBOR, Wash — A reported protection order violation in Gig Harbor escalated into a deadly scene that included a stabbing in the street and reports of gunfire, according to information from the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office.
The incident happened in the 14017 block of 87th Avenue Court Northwest around 8:47 a.m.
The call initially came in as an “Order Violation in Progress,” with the PCSO stating that an adult man came to the home despite the residents having a no-contact order against him. Deputies confirmed the order had not yet been officially validated, as it had not yet been served.
Deputies obtained a copy of the order to serve on the man, but while en route, they received the update that witnesses were reporting the man was now stabbing people outside the home.
Witnesses said at least one of the victims was stabbed in the middle of the street in front of multiple onlookers.
A solo deputy arrived at the site, and shots were reported at 9:33 a.m.
The PCSO said three adult victims were killed at the scene, while a fourth victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition but succumbed to their injuries shortly thereafter, bringing the amount of victims killed to 4.
The attacker, age 32, was also confirmed dead by the PCSO.
