Rangers and Celtic will go head-to-head at Ibrox on Sunday afternoon in a huge clash at the top of the Scottish Premiership.

Danny Rohl’s side have been in excellent form in recent months but have had a small wobble recently, and currently sit second in the table, just ahead of Martin O’Neill’s Celtic side, who have been very inconsistent with their performances. Rangers sit seven points behind Hearts, while Celtic sit nine points behind, following the league leaders’ win over Aberdeen on Saturday.

Both sides have some injury concerns heading into the game, and this is how GIVEMESPORT expects the teams to line up.

Celtic Team News

Celtic's Kieran Tierney and Aaron Trusty

The visitors were facing a number of injury concerns heading into the game, and O’Neill was understood to be without up to six players. Auston Trusty will be suspended following his red card last weekend, while Arne Engels remains absent with a thigh problem.

Cameron Carter-Vickers, Jota, Alistair Johnston, and Callum Osmand are all long-term absentees and won’t play, but there is hope that January arrival Julian Araujo can shake off a knock to play.

O’Neill Drops Team News Update

Speaking in his pre-match press conference, O’Neill shared an update on his team ahead of the game.

“We are running out of games,” O’Neill admitted. “We have been trying to catch up for quite some considerable time and we’re still trying to do that.

“Losing to Hibs was a setback, but it wasn’t mortal and we’re still there.”

Now he is relishing a “really great fixture” he “never expected” to be involved in again.

“He [Rohl] possesses a fine team over there and it is going to be tough for us to get a result,” O’Neill admitted.

“In normal circumstances, you would like the full week to prepare, but we’ve gone to Ibrox and won before after we have played midweek games.”

Celtic Confirmed XI: Sinisalo; Araujo, Scales, Murray, Tierney; Oxlade-Chamberlain, McGregor; Yang, Nygren, Maeda, Adamu.

Celtic Predicted Substitutes: Doohan (GK), Donovan (DEF), Saracchi (DEF), Arthur (DEF), Hatate (MID), McCowan (MID), Forrest (MID), Cvancara (FWD), Tounetki (FWD).
