Daniel Farke could perform a U-turn and accept the red card he received following Leeds United’s home defeat to Manchester City.

Farke was dismissed after the final whistle at Elland Road as he approached referee Peter Bankes. The FA have still to contact him about the dismissal, to inform him of a one match ban.

But Farke could decide to accept the punishment – because he would prefer to serve it when Leeds host his former club Norwich in the FA Cup this weekend.

This would enable Farke to be back in the technical area for when Leeds travel Crystal Palace on March 15. Farke has been considering asking the FA to review ‘ref cam’ footage in a bid to get a ban overturned.

Farke claims the card was brandished before he had even said a word to the officials. Farke has spoken to club officials about what happened – and believes footage from the camera Bankes was wearing on his ear for the game would prove he did nothing wrong.

The club believe there is a strong chance video footage will prove Farke has no case to answer. It’s understood Farke will wait until the FA contact him, before deciding what to do next.

In the meantime, Farke will be in the dug out for tonight’s crunch home showdown with Sunderland.
