DALLAS — Results will begin to pour in to the various races across Texas as polls close at 7 p.m. Tuesday for the March primary.
This primary is headlined by a number of hot primary races, perhaps none more so than the Republican primary for Senate. Sen. John Cornyn is looking to fend off Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton and U.S. Rep. Wesley Hunt to stay onto the ballot in November and win another six-year term, but many experts are expecting this three-way race to go to a runoff.
The primary to determine the Democratic challenger for Cornyn’s Senate seat is being watched closely as well, as Dallas-based Rep. Jasmine Crockett is running against Austin-based state Rep. James Talarico. Both Crockett and Talarico have gained eyes on social media and on TV, and while many polls initially showed the race as being statistically tied, the latest polls ahead of Election Day have shown Crockett slightly ahead.
Primary races for every House seat in Texas, both state and federal, are being held as well, along with many county positions.
