Newcastle shared a cheeky post mocking Manchester United after William Osula came back to haunt them. Osula, 22, fired Newcastle to an unlikely 2-1 win after his dazzling goal in the 90th minute at St James’ Park.
Eddie Howe’s side had been reduced to 10 men on the brink of half-time after Jacob Ramsey was controversially sent off for two yellow cards. Despite that, Newcastle took the lead through Anthony Gordon after Bruno Fernandes had given away a penalty.
United captain Fernandes quickly made amends by setting up Casemiro to equalise before the break. In the second half, though, the visitors couldn’t break Newcastle down and were eventually punished by Osula.
The Dane picked up the ball on the counter attack before blitzing past Tyrell Malacia. Cutting inside on his left foot, Osula whipped a shot past Harry Maguire which left Senne Lammens rooted and crashed into the back of the net.

Some at United should know all about Osula’s talent, as back in 2014, he won the MU Soccer Schools World Skills Final. The forward played at Old Trafford aged 11 and impressed enough to win the award.
A post on X showed Osula receiving a shield from United legends Bryan Robson and Gary Pallister. “Congratulations to 11-year-old William Osula from Denmark, winner of today’s MU Soccer Schools World Skills Final,” it read.
Fast forward just over 11 years and and Osula came back to haunt the Red Devils. Newcastle didn’t miss the chance to mock their opponents, resharing the 2014 post and writing: “Time flies.”

The winner was only Osula’s second Premier League goal of the season and his first since August after being limited to one start. The forward told TNT Sports post-match: “That was the best feeling ever. I was so happy for that.
“When I came on I just prayed that I was going to score and make something happen and thank God that that happened. I was practicing that in training yesterday, just cut in and finish it, so the hard work paid off.”
Howe added: “He did 10 shots at the end of training and he wanted more. Fair play to him. It’s the desire to repeat and to practice. He’s delivered an amazing moment for the supporters here.
“It’s a great moment for him and he deserves it. Hopefully it’s turning point for him. A big moment for us. We’ve proved we’re competitive against any team.”
