Coventry City news from CoventryLive as Frank Lampard names his starting line-up to face Bristol City
Coventry City’s Jack Rudoni is out injured for today’s game at Bristol City
Frank Lampard has made two forced changes and four overall to his Coventry City side due to star midfielder Jack Rudoni and defender Bobby Thomas being out injured against Bristol City.
The two players have muscle injuries and are replaced by Josh Eccles and Luke Woolfenden, respectively, on a day when Frank Onyeka is included in the squad after recovering from a ‘knock’ against Stoke but on the bench at Ashton Gate.
That means the hitherto settled rearguard sees Woolfenden come in to partner Joel Latibeaudiere at the heart of the back four, with Milan van Ewijk and Jay Dasilva continuing at full-back.
Carl Rushworth is in goal while Matt Grimes is partnered by Victor Torp in midfield. Tatsuhiro Sakamoto comes back into the starting line-up on the right flank in place of Romain Esse, who drops to the bench, while Ephron Mason-Clark continues on the left, with Eccles expected to operate in the number ten slot in place of Rudoni.
That leaves Haji Wright to continue to lead the line with Ellis Simms and Brandon Thomas-Asante as striking/attacking back-up among the substitutes where Jahnoah Markelo is included in the matchday 20.
City: Carl Rushworth; Milan van Ewijk, Luke Woolfenden, Joel Latibeaudiere, Jay Dasilva; Matt Grimes, Victor Torp; Tatsuhiro Sakamoto, Josh Eccles, Ephron Mason-Clark; Haji Wright.
Subs: Ben Wilson (GK), Kaine Kesler-Hayden, Liam Kitching, Ellis Simms, Jake Bidwell, Romain Esse, Brandon Thomas-Asante, Frank Onyeka, Jahnoah Markelo.
