OAKLAND, Calif. — Two people were killed in a mass shooting that involved seven victims at a bar in downtown Oakland early Saturday morning.

The shooting happened at about 3:30 a.m. inside EZ’s lounge at 412 14th Street, the Oakland Police Officers Association confirms.

The Oakland Police Department says one died at the scene, who was later identified as a 33-year-old woman.
Police said the second victim who died was a 25-year-old man who succumbed to his injuries at a hospital at about 11:30 a.m.
Five others were injured, including at least three who were hospitalized in stable condition.
Several people were detained, and multiple firearms were recovered from the scene.
The Oakland Police Officers Association released a statement on the shooting, saying it is “deeply troubled by ongoing gun violence in Oakland.”
“The OPOA extends its deepest sympathies to the families and loved ones of those killed this morning in a senseless shooting in downtown Oakland,” the statement said. “Any loss of life to gun violence is a tragedy, and tonight our community is once again grieving.”
The OPOA also pleaded for more support for policing and cooperation from the community.
