Three Brampton residents have been charged after police allegedly seized drugs, guns, ammo, and a fake firearm during a raid.
The Ontario Provincial Police’s (OPP) Caledon Detachment said its Community Street Crime Unit began a drug trafficking investigation last month.
With the help of the Caledon Major Crime Unit, OPP Central Region Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau, and Canada Border Services Agency, a search warrant was executed at a residence in Brampton.
Investigators said officers seized approximately 480 grams of opium, two firearms, firearm ammunition, and a replica handgun firearm.
As a result, three suspects were arrested.
Kushdeep Kaur, 25, of Brampton, has been charged with two counts of careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device, or ammunition, while Balpreet Kaur, 26, and Arun Kumar, 20, both of Brampton, are each facing one count of possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking.
The accused are all scheduled to appear in court at a later date, police said.
This investigation is ongoing and anyone with further information is asked to contact the Caledon OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
