Five masked suspects broke into a North York residence early Monday morning and assaulted a resident inside with a weapon before stealing their vehicle, police say.
Police were called to the residence near Yonge Street and Sheppard Avenue at around 5:20 a.m.
It is alleged that the suspects forced their way inside, assaulted a resident with a weapon and obtained a set of car keys. ,
After the assault, one suspect fled in a vehicle belonging to the resident and the others left in the vehicle they arrived in, police say.
Three suspects were later arrested, investigators said Monday.
Waheed Rahmati, 22, of Richmond Hill, Camyar Zandinia, 20, of East Gwillimbury, and a 17-year-old youth have been charged with dozens of offences.
Two other suspects remain outstanding. No description has been released for those suspects.
