Two suspects have been charged, while a third remains outstanding, after a busker was robbed at Finch Subway Station late last week.
Toronto police said on March 5, just before 11 p.m., they responded to a call for a robbery in North York, near Keele Street and Finch Avenue West.
Investigators allege one person was playing guitar and collecting change at TTC Finch Subway Station, and also live streaming to social media, when three males approached them and reportedly stole the money they had collected.
The victim then attempted to stop the males and one of the suspects allegedly produced a firearm, police said.
Members from 31 Division Major Crime Unit investigated and as a result, two search warrants were executed leading to the arrest of two of the three suspects.
Meekal Ali, 19, of Toronto, and a 16-year-old boy, who cannot be named under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, were arrested and charged with robbery with a firearm. They are scheduled to appeared in bail court on March 10.
One suspect remains at-large. Police told CP24 that they do not have any further details about this wanted person.
