A driver has smashed into a White House gate, triggering road closures around the complex in Washington DC just after 6.30am Wednesday.Â
The driver of the van was detained and is being questioned by US Secret Service.
No injuries were reported after the van drove through the barricade at Connecticut Avenue and H Street, Northwest, the Metropolitan Police Department said.Â
The incident comes amid a wave of attacks on US soil since Donald Trump launched the war against Iran.Â
