Bomb squad called to ‘suspicious package’ at RAF Lossiemouth

A bomb disposal team has been called to a “suspicious package” found at RAF Lossiemouth.

A cordon was put in place after the package was found during a routine security search at the Moray base.

The RAF said that some personnel had been temporarily moved at the base “as a precaution” but flying operations had not been affected

A spokesperson said: “EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) has been notified, a cordon is in place, and we are working with civilian agencies to resolve the issue.”
